How we have engaged with the community
It's vital that the local community is heavily involved in the Plan. Our Steering Group comprises local councillors and local residents, who've all given up a great deal of time to find out what our community like about the parish and what could be changed for the better.
Initial Public launch event and consultations
The very first step of the process was to tell local people about the Neighbourhood Planning process and start hearing people's views on the parish. A series of launch events were held with the community. You can read the comments we recieved in the file below. These helped the Steering Group to put together the initial draft vision and objectives for the parish.
This led to a series of meetings and coversations with different individuals and groups around the parish. Each Working Group took on board those comments and devised a parish survey that would test some of the findings. The main surveys undertaken are outlined below.

The Housing Needs Survey
Action in Rural Sussex undertook a Housing Needs Survey which revealed:
A scheme of up to 15 units of affordable housing would probably be most appropriate. This size of development would then be likely to be occupied by local people once completed.
